Whatever you do, never go for a jog in the winter without your ear protection on.

I think I need a bigger size.

In going through some boxes of clothes, we found a hat from Robbie's NICU days. Robbie didn't quite get that it wouldn't fit anymore.

Sedated Hearing Exam

After Robbie got his second set of ear tubes, he had to have a follow-up hearing exam. He failed. At his age, it's hard to tell if he genuinely couldn't hear, or if he just wouldn't cooperate with the tests and questions. The only way to know for sure was to do a sedated hearing exam. Basically they knock him out and measure his brain waves to audible tones. Fortunately he passed 100%. Turns out, he's stubborn. Playing with a firetruck from the hospital.

Off they go.

Waking up is always the hardest part.

New van

In preparation for becoming a big brother, Robbie decided we needed a new family vehicle. He insists that it's "mommy's truck" and not a van, but he seems to love it.

Playing with friends at the zoo

Robbie and friends Jack & Olivia try to scale a fence at the zoo. We listened to a family concert and the kids got to run and play.

Funny Audrey

We visited Grandma's house and Robbie had a lot of fun, as usual. One night David had some friends over and Robbie got to play with a few of their kids.

I pretty much dare you not to at least smile when you hear him cracking up. It's a good thing he's a good sport, eh?

Chicago, Day 2

We only stayed in Chicago overnight, but on our 2nd day, we visited the Shedd Aquarium.

At the wishing fountain with Sarah & Hazel.

Robbie and Mommy took a train ride to visit friends in Chicago.

Watching the world go by.

Settling in for a long ride.

With my friend, Hazel.

Independence Day

Robbie, baby Mason and Olivia celebrated with us. Hope this is a sign that Robbie's ready for another baby in the house.

After discovering his love of cake, Robbie got a little confused and thought anything with a creamy substance must be icing. This particular night, he insisted that my side of sour cream was, indeed, cake. I gave him a bite, expecting him to be horrified, but instead he dug in and ended up eating almost the entire bowl- plain.

Birthday Cake

Robbie has figured out that birthdays = cake = awesome. This was a birthday party for Robbie's friend Lexi, whom he "met" in the NICU back in the bad ol' days.

Happy birthday Lexi! Pass the fork!
