Busch Stadium

Part of Daddy's Christmas present was a tour of Busch Stadium. It was the perfect day for it.

St. Louis City Museum

Today we decided to check out the City Museum. It turns out to be aimed at older children, but we still had a good time.

Whoa. This is a weird tunnel!

What a great staircase!

Children's Museum

We took a weekend trip to Normal, IL to visit some friends. While there, we visited their children's museum and had a ton of fun.

This car was a favorite.

One of Robbie's favorite things- A CLOCK.
Pretty sure this wasn't meant to be climbed. Details, details.

I could do this ALL DAY.

Monkey Joes

This was our 2nd trip to Monkey Joe's. It's basically a giant place filled with bounce house type toys. Robbie wasn't a fan the 1st time, but we were hoping he'd warm up.

It appeared he wasn't a fan again. David tried to help him.

He'd seem a little amused but then look upset again.

But Dad was persistent.

I was ready to give up, but David wasn't giving up.

Even w/o the bouncing, the game were fun!

One second he hated the bouncers and the next he was off like a light. Dad's persistence won!

Up

and
 over

 WHEE!

Time to conquer the mountain. It took him a solid 5 minutes to climb these steps. Eventually all the kids behind him crawled over him, but he still would not be defeated.
It was so worth it!

A trip to the zoo

We decided to beat a different path and head to the zoo on a chilly day. It was great to have the place mostly to ourselves.

 A wild peacock

We were given quite an unexpected treat when we stumbled into a courtship ritual.

 A peacock mating dance

The plumage was incredible! The dance went on for a good 20 minutes. Alas, the male stumbled and was rebuffed by the female. Probably best for a two year old's eyes anyway, eh?

Let's march

I don't know if I can say again how much the March of Dimes has meant to my family. There are only so many ways to say "They helped save our son's life." A few days after Robbie was born we were down visiting him in the NICU. I was still admitted to the hospital myself, but this was the first day I was able to walk (albeit slowly) down to see him. This particular day stands out very clearly in my mind. The NICU almost seemed to have a special glow that day. As we left the NICU to go back to my room, I remarked to David that I felt almost like I could see angel's wings on the backs of the nurses in the unit that day. They were literally doing God's work.

That is how I feel about the March of Dimes still. They are doing God's work. The research that they help fund has lead to breakthrough after breakthrough which has improved survival rates of babies born as early as Robbie, along with countless other accomplishments dating back to their original mission to cure polio.

That day in the NICU, I told David that if we hit the lottery, we were designating a large portion of money to the angels doing God's work. Unfortunately those winning lotto numbers are still eluding us. The next best thing I can think to do is to raise money. I'm not a public figure. We're not celebrities. We're just a regular family hoping to make a difference. The best way we know how to do that is to march. We are going to march for babies.

Team Remarkable Robbie is now seeking walkers and donors. Please join us as we seek to do God's work. Our march is April 30 in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO. We hope to see you there!

First Date

For Valentine's day this year, Robbie had his first date. He and his betrothed, Olivia, went for Italian at a local restaurant sponsoring a Lady and the Tramp inspired meal.

Checking my messages one last time before I go

My beautiful my date.

I'm quite dapper myself.

We make an adorable couple.

It's not quite a spaghetti kiss, but the love is there.

I brought flowers like any gentleman.

They're too young for a kiss.
